So, here's my simple but difficult plan:
1. Drink only Water. (No Coke, No sweet tea)
2. No refined sugar (one exception, a small piece of 70% dark chocolate daily)
So far, this sounds like every other diet I've tried and failed at, but this next step seemed to be a game changer for me...
3. No wheat products whatsoever. (No bread, no pasta, no breaded foods, not even a trace of wheat in anything I eat.)
Refer to the Wheat Belly book for more information, but there is research that shows that eating wheat, even "whole grain" or "100% whole wheat", is a catalyst for increased food cravings and even addictions.
4. Eat when I'm hungry. (no intentional hunger allowed)
That's it... Anything else is fair game. Meats, fruits, cheese, vegetables, fats. No other restrictions.
So, there's my eating plan. It was difficult at first, but its really worked well for me. What do you think? How would you feel about giving up wheat entirely?
Thanks for reading! In my next post, I'll explain the effects my eating plan had on my weight and other areas of my life.
