I have always hated mornings for as long as I can remember. Just ask my mom what it took to get me out of bed to go to school in the morning.... And this carried over into my adult life. It would usually take me a few hours to feel ok after getting up in the morning. pretty much every morning I would feel lethargic and depressed. This would pass after a few hours, but think about having to start your day feeling like this...
I also used to be a big napper. Every Sunday afternoon, I would schedule a Sunday nap. I needed it to survive. On weekdays, I would find myself falling asleep in my recliner between getting home from work and supper. I was tired pretty much every afternoon.
Two weeks after starting this diet, all of this changed! I was getting up much easier in the mornings and I wasn't tired anymore in the afternoons. My morning depression was nonexistent and I was coming home and playing with my two boys instead of passing out in the recliner. Talk about a life change!
I'm convinced that my new diet was the main factor in this change in energy. If you're struggling with the same energy issues I was, I would encourage you give it a try: Go three weeks without any wheat or refined sugar and see how you feel. It certainly helped me!
