Staying on Track with LCHF / Keto - Weight Loss Update

This was a bad week and a good week.

My family recently returned from vacation, so my work week was particularly stressful.  Also, because of all of our vacation fun, I was a bit low on funds this week.  Normally, this kind of week would lead me to choose cheap, unhealthy foods.  It would be totally normal for me to stress eat and gain wait.

Thankfully, because of my ketogenic eating plan, this didn't happen.  I actually had a very successful week!

If there was one main benefit that the ketogenic diet gave me this week, it would be "spontaneous fasting."
What is spontaneous fasting?  It's the ability to skip a meal and to be completely okay.  If this sounds completely crazy to you, let me explain....

Spontaneous Fasting

Skipping meals may come natural for some, but it never has for me.  My guess is that, if you have struggled with overeating like I do, you would have trouble with this also.  If I ever missed a meal, I would get hungry (or hangry!) real fast.  "Forgetting to eat" was a completely foreign concept to me.

This all changed when I became fully keto-adapted.  At a certain point, I realized that I wasn't hungry and I didn't need to eat my next scheduled meal.  Sometimes, I would still try to eat out of habit, but I definitely didn't eat as much.  Other times, I would just skip a meal.  As I am writing this right now, it is 3:00PM and I haven't eaten lunch yet.  I had breakfast at 9:00AM and I am simply having a cup of coffee for lunch.  I feel no hunger whatsoever.

This is not always the case, but It happens a lot and it requires little or no "will power" on my part.  This is just one of the benefits of the Ketogenic diet.  If you have ever had a problem with overeating, you may find that this is a great plan for you.

My Week

So, what does spontaneous fasting have to do with my busy, no money week?  I'm sure you've guessed it by now....  If I found myself too busy eat or too broke to buy some keto-friendly restaurant food, I just skipped a meal.  And, because of my decreased appetite, skipping a meal was pretty easy to do.

Even though I had a "bad week", I was able to manage it better on this diet.

Weight Loss Progress - 46 Days LCHF / Keto

It should be no surprise, given my decreased appetite, that my weight loss and waist loss actually went really well this week.  Here are the numbers...
WEIGHT

Starting Weight (3/13/17):  323.3 lbs

Last Week's Weight (4/23/17): 307.0 lbs

Current Weight (4/30/17):  305.0 lbs

This Week's Weight Loss: 2.0 lbs

Weight Loss over 46 Days:  18.2 lbs
WAIST

Starting Measurement (3/13/17):  56 in

Last Week's Measurement (4/23/17): 52 in

Current Measurement (4/30/17):  50 in

This Week's Waist Loss: 2 inches

"Waist" Loss over 46 days:  6 inches
46 Day LCHF / Keto Progress

Needless to say, I am very happy with my progress!

I haven't been perfect, but I've stuck to the plan 95% of the time and I have been careful to stay in ketosis for most of these 46 days.  Because I am still seeing great results, I will continue with my current plan and I don't plan on changing anything at the moment.
